Grill Team Arrival Information
Teams will be allowed to arrive on Saturday, September 20th at or after 6:00 PM. Teams are NOT required to arrive on the 20th, and can choose to arrive on Sunday, September 21st. If a team arrives on the 21st, the grilling area will be open by 1:00 PM for teams to begin setting up. Teams can also drop off equipment on the 20th or before church service hours on the 21st (before 8:00 AM) but will not be able to during service hours between 8:00 AM – 12:45 PM.
Food Preparation (For The Masses)
- Teams will prepare sample for all Man Church participants. This food items can be any grilled/smoked/cooked item that the team so chooses. The item needs to be served only in sample or bite size. (Ex: Ribs could be served in a single or half rib, Pulled Pork can be served in a small serving cup along with a sauce or to the chef’s specifications, etc.)
- We are prayerfully hoping to be joined by 800 men on the 21st, so teams should be prepared to serve food for Man Church participants during the 5:00 – 6:30 PM serving time. Reminder, this only needs to be a sample size for this element. Come prepared to serve 400 people.
Food Preparation (For The Judges)
- All teams participating in the judging portion of the Grill Fest will need to have their items for judging ready to be served by 6:00 PM.
- Teams will prepare (1) pork item (of the team’s choice), (1) chicken item (of the team’s choice) and (1) side item (of the team’s choice) for 3 judges.
- These items can be prepared however the team chooses and will be judged on basis of the attached guidelines.
- Judging will be done blindly as each team’s submission for judging will be presented by a numbered system to keep the anonymity of the teams from the judges.
