Independence Day is a day we celebrate our nation’s freedom. It’s also a chance for us to focus on another freedom we have. Not given to us by our founding fathers, but by our heavenly father. We will pause on this day and thank God for our spiritual freedom from sin, shame, and fear.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.  – Galatians 5:1 NIV
