2026 MINISTRY PLAN COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why are we talking about our church debt?
In 2026, we need to refinance two of our three loans.  We will shop those to find the best possible terms and rates available. (Our Vision Advance Team has already been looking into the best possible scenarios.) To finalize this refinance, the church must vote to authorize the trustees to sign the necessary documents.
What is our plan to pay our debt?
The previous pages present a 10-year plan to refinance and pay off the debt. We want to pay off debt and provide all financial resources to continue to advance our mission and vision. We have always tried to balance debt and growth, using debt to facilitate growth and growth to finance debt.
Have we been paying any toward the principal on our debt?
Yes. Our debt upon completion of the worship center was $22,000,000. Since 2018, we have been making principal and interest payments monthly on the debt. Currently, we owe $16,200,000.
Some have said, “Maybe we should not have built the worship center at Central?" It accounted for 2/3 of our indebtedness. So, what if we were still in the Chapel today?
Even after COVID, we would have been in 3 services for the last 10-years. Two of the three would be over-crowded. To facilitate any room for growth, we would have to start a 4th service. If we had delayed and were trying to build our current worship center today. Cost estimates would exceed $50 million.
Since we had to press pause with the East Campus and it costs so much to launch and maintain a campus, is a multi-site strategy still a part of our vision for Christ Place?
YES. Our passion has never been stronger to take Christ to every place in our Lake Lanier region. We feel called to go to where the lost are located (Luke 14:23). The hundreds that have been reach, baptized and discipled at our Central, North and East campuses are a testimony to God’s blessing on our church.
What about ministry needs at Central and North? How will those be funded?
Our general budget is designed to cover all ministry expenses at all campuses.  When we all give tithes and offerings to the general fund at Christ Place, we are all a part of seeing God meet all the needs for ministries and operations at both the central and the north campuses.
How will we pay off debt and provide permanent locations for our multi-site campus strategy?
We are devoted to pay off debt. We are equally as devoted to providing permanent locations for campuses without incurring new debt. Doing both will take a commitment to generous giving. We will work to pay down debt with excess money given to the general fund. All funding for campuses’ land and buildings will come from designated offerings above the tithe given to Raising the Cross.
