JESUS SHARED SCRIPTURES WITH OTHERS
By Rob Britton
“And Jesus looking at him, loved him, and said to him, ‘You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.’” Mark 10:21 There was a man known in the Bible as the rich, young ruler who came to ask Jesus a question: “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus responded with an answer directly from the Scripture. He wasn’t intimidated by this man’s wealth or his prominence. He knew that the young man had a huge need and that the Scriptures held the answer. God’s Word is perfect, true, and powerful. We need to share the Bible with our friends. We don’t need to apologize for the Scriptures. The Bible is “living and active” and has the power to draw people to Jesus. We need to tell our friends that Jesus is the Way and no one comes to the Father except through Him. We need to proclaim boldly that there is salvation in no other.
Memorize a passage of Scripture this week that you can share with a lost friend. Share that Scripture passage with your friend, maybe over coffee, before the week is over.
Memorize the Romans Road. Memorize Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, and 10:9-10, and then share these verses with a friend. Practice until you know all the verses perfectly. Share them with a friend who may not know the Lord.
Memorize John 3:16. Discuss with your children a few friends that they can share this verse within their neighborhood or school.
God, Your Word is perfect. I want to delight myself in Your truth and live it out each day. I also want to know Your Word and share Your Word with others. Help me to memorize, meditate on, and share Your Scriptures with others.
