JESUS LOVED TRUTH
By Ben Garrison
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
Jesus, Himself, is truth. He is the opposite of Satan, who is the father of all lies. From the beginning in the Garden of Eden until now, Satan has lied and deceived mankind. Christ has not come to deceive us but instead to reveal the truth. The truth is that all people are under bondage and stand condemned by our sin in front of a holy and righteous God. God loved us so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to die for our sins. So that whoever repents of their sins and believes in Jesus as Lord and Savior will be saved. Only when we know the truth of the gospel, can we be set free from sin.
We have been set free from sin through the sacrifice of Jesus. Therefore, let us not be deceived by the lies of Satan. May we hold on to the teachings of Christ for He, Himself, is truth and has revealed the truth to us. Let us share this truth, a truth that will set the captive free, with everyone in our sphere of influence.
ACTION POINT
Have you been set free by the truth of Christ? If not, your first action step is to repent of your sins and follow Jesus, for He will set you free from sin and death. If you have been set free, then make a list of people that you will share the truth of Jesus with this week.
STUDENTS
Talk to your students about their source of Truth. Is it Jesus or something else? Also, encourage your students to write out a list of people they can share the truth of Jesus with.
KIDS
Help your children understand the truth of Jesus. That even though we are sinners, Jesus loved us and died on the cross for us. That whoever believes in Him, will be saved. Encourage them to pray and thank God for Jesus.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for setting us free from sin. Your goodness and faithfulness to me is never-ending. Thank You for patiently loving me.
